Friday Five // July 31, 2020

haley post blog Friday five summer favorites

Wow, I can’t believe it’s already the last day of July! This month flew by, and before we know it, we’ll be getting ready for fall (which I’m so excited for, by the way).

My highlights of the week included sunny walks outside while listening to new music, and making healthy Tofu Power Bowls with fresh summer produce. I hope you enjoy this week’s Friday Five as much as I did!

Eat:

Tofu Power Bowls from Damn Delicious. I made these power bowls for dinner this week, and I could not believe how fresh and flavorful they were! They’re light, nutritious, and still super satisfying—a perfect summer meal.

Read:

Jessica Olm’s “My Favorite Getaways: Upstate New York”. Jessica Olm is an incredible travel and lifestyle photographer (if you aren’t already, go follow her Insta right now at @jessolm and thank me later!), and she just published a blog post on her favorite places to visit in upstate New York with stunning photography and amazing travel tips. This post made me so excited for fall!

Watch:

“A Magical Painting Session” by Harmony Nice. I can’t get enough of Harmony or her Youtube channel. Her latest video is a sunny, calming, beautiful video of about freeing your soul through art.

Listen:

Taylor Swift’s new album, Folklore. I mean, honestly, who isn’t listening to this album right now? To be honest, Taylor’s last few pop albums weren’t really my thing, but she took a completely different, indie-style direction with Folklore and I’m here for it. If you’re an indie fan, you should definitely give it a listen!

Do:

Make lemon water or infused water. Portland’s been in a heat wave for the past week, and it’s been difficult to stay hydrated. I find that infusing a pitcher of water with a couple handfuls of basil and sliced cucumbers, or even simply squeezing a little bit of fresh lemon into my water, really motivates me to keep sipping throughout the day.
