What I’m Reading This Spring & A Read With Me Video

Haley Post spring read with me my moonstone kitchen

Hi, my beautiful friend!

I hope you’re doing well and taking care of yourself. This time of year is full of excitement and new beginnings, which (although mostly positive) can become overwhelming and stressful at times—at least in my experience. I’ve had to make time for some extra self care lately, and that often takes the form of journaling and reading for me!

To celebrate spring, I decided to make a little Spring Read and Journal with Me video for you!

Grab a journal, and good book, and a glass of water or iced tea and join me for 45 minutes of peaceful music and nature sounds. I filmed this video outside under my favorite cherry blossom tree, and considering it’s only in bloom a few days out of the year, I’m so grateful I was able to capture its fleeting beauty in this video.

In case you’re wondering, here’s a list of the books I’m reading this spring:

  1. Becoming by Michelle Obama. I finished this book a few weeks ago, and it was truly an amazing read. I’ve always been a huge fan of Michelle Obama, and this book only reinforced my admiration and respect for her. Becoming provides an intimate and honest view of Michelle’s life, from her beginnings in the South Side of Chicago to her thriving career as a lawyer and experience as a mom and wife. It’s full of wisdom and it’s an incredibly empowering read—I highly, highly recommend it.

  2. Untamed by Glennon Doyle. If you’re going to read one book this year, this should be it. Part memoir and part self-help guide, Untamed is beautifully written and brimming with invaluable lessons about womanhood, relationships, and life. It’s also highly recommended by both Brene Brown and Elizabeth Gilbert, which speaks for itself. :)

  3. Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen. I just started this book, and I can’t wait to finish reading it! I love Pride and Prejudice, so I’m very excited for this one.

  4. Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery. This one is next on my list! I’ve heard nothing but great things about this whimsical book, and I figured it would be a wonderful light and adventurous read for late spring / early summer.
